Partnership for Children

Partnership for Children works for a world in which fewer children need treatment for mental health problems, fewer teenagers turn to drink and drugs when life gets tough, and fewer young people take their own lives. We promote the mental health and emotional wellbeing of young children, helping them to develop the social skills, coping strategies and resilience to deal with problems and crises as adolescents and adults. We do this by providing teachers, parents and carers with skills and resources.Β

The need for coping skills

The need for coping skills

Children face many pressures these days, from exams to bullying, body image to problems at home. It’s vital that they have the words and confidence to talk about how they’re feeling and reach out for help — but many don’t.

Helping children to reach out and talk

Helping children to reach out and talk

Partnership for Children works with teachers, giving them the skills and resources to help children develop coping and communication skills. Children like Brandon, whose father died when he was four. Brandon didn’t talk about what had happened for two years but, thanks to Partnership for Children’s work, he was finally able to start talking about his dad and get the support he so needed.

Working with parents

Working with parents

So far, Partnership for Children has worked with more than 40,000 primary school children in the UK and, in September, we will be launching our programme in 50 new schools. Funds from this appeal will help us to expand our work with parents, ensuring that they too can support their children to develop emotional resilience - for life.
