Refugee Week
Since the beginning of the year, more than 100,000 refugees and migrants have taken their lives in their hands and made the perilous journey across the Mediterranean in search of a new life in Europe.Β
At the same time,Β nearly 2,000 have drowned in the attempt - a 20-fold increase on the same period last year.Β So what drives people to take such desperate measures?
On the eve of Refugee Week, Eye on Wales hears from three asylum seekers who have made their home in Wales about why they fled their own country, the reception they've received here and their hopes for the future.
