Ed Miliband became Leader of the Labour Party in the autumn of 2010. He had worked at the heart of New Labour, both in opposition and in power, advising Gordon Brown before becoming an MP in 2005 and joining the government one year later.Β The Labour Party says that the Coalition Government’s cuts have hit women hardest and this week he launched his party’s manifesto saying that "Britain only succeeds when working families succeed". Jenni talks to Ed Miliband, Leader of the Labour Party, about his offer to women voters. Β 

Child 44

Noomi Rapace stars in a new film, Child 44, based on the best-selling novel by Tom Rob Smith. The backdrop is 1950’s Soviet Russia, and the story is loosely based on the crimes of real-life serial killer Andrei Chikatilo. Β Noomi plays Raisa Demidov, the wife of a secret police agent. In the film the couple investigate a trail of murdered children, hampered by Stalin’s rule that, β€œThere is no crime in Paradise.” Β Noomi Rapace made a name for herself when she starred in the original version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. She joins Jenni to talk about Child 44, and why she’s drawn to roles in such dark films.

Child 44 goes on general release on April 17th.
