The Decemberists Session

Another chance to hear the Decemberists in session for Mary Anne Hobbs from February 2015, featuring additional commentary from Mary Anne and the band.

On the 17th February 2015 the Decemberists played a blistering live session for Mary Anne Hobbs (sitting in on the Lauren Laverne show) from Salford's Media City UK. You can relive the music and chat in this programme, which also features new commentary from Mary Anne and the band.

The Decemberists are a Grammy-nominated indie folk rock outfit from Portland, Oregon. They have released seven albums of real beauty, including 2015's 'What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World'.

At 7pm this evening band leader Colin Meloy presented his first ever 6 Music programme. It was a Good Friday treat of a show, featuring psych and folk from Colin's record collection.
