Presented by hip-hop star Akala, Poetry: Between the Lines - The Romantics explores the poetry of the Romantic period through the work of Wordsworth, Byron, Blake, Shelley and Keats.
Through a mix of animation, conversation and vignette, the film expresses classic Romantic themes, ranging from the power of nature to the effects of industrialisation. Akala discusses language, form and social context with a range of experts - from battle emcee Mark Grist to radio host Mr Gee - as well as some of Britain's most promising young poets. Through the fascination with love, loss, nature and politics, the programme shows how the concerns of the Romantics are still very much alive in the present-day world.
