Stories
British film 'The Theory of Everything' is based on the memoirs of Jane Hawking, the first wife of acclaimed physicist Stephen Hawking. Jane talks about what it was like to see her life on the big screen, and how her faith has sustained her when living with Stephen’s debilitating condition Motor Neurone Disease, and his atheism. She also talks about her love of music and we see Jane today singing in the choir with her second husband, conductor and organist, Jonathan Hellyer Jones.
David Oyelowo
David Grant talks to David Oyelowo about his role playing Martin Luther King in the film ‘Selma’. He reveals how he believes God told him he would play that part one day, and the journey he took to transform himself into the civil rights leader on screen.
Magna Carta
We follow Stevie and Iona, two volunteers from as they visit the British Library in London to view a unique exhibition where all four surviving copies of Magna Carta have been brought together for the first time since they were written, 800 years ago.
Salisbury’s copy will be displayed in a at the Cathedral which opens on 6th March 2015.
The Lincoln copy will be on show in Lincoln Castle from 1st April 2015.
And the two copies held by the will be on display in a major exhibition which opens on 15th March 2015.
Michael Wenham
Church minister Michael Wenham is a blogger from Oxfordshire who relates to the story of Jane and Stephen Hawking. He is also married to a Jane, and like Stephen, has motor neurone disease. He shares his story and reveals what faith and family mean to him today.
