Its fifty years this month since the march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama,Β  a key event in the struggle for civil rights in the United States.Β Β  The film Selma is currently introducing a new generation to that movement and to its key figure Martin Luther King. Roy Jenkins asks whether or not his way of non-violent resistance has been vindicated, and what lessons still need to be learned both in the States and much nearer home.Β Β 

Roy’s guests include Rev'd Dr Karen Smith, a Baptist minister from Georgia; Rev'd Kim Fabricius, originally from New York; and Rev'd Dr Joe Aldred, of Churches Together in England.
