An hour of the best folk and acoustic music from Britain and beyond. This week, singer Julie Murphy, from the acclaimed Welsh band Fernhill, performs solo.

Originally from Essex, Julie has since been celebrated for her beautiful renditions of Welsh-language songs in the band Fernhill. She has also worked with John Cale and Robert Plant on various projects.

Her most recent solo album, A Quiet House, came out in 2012. Her new EP, Mermaid, was released recently and she performs songs from it on this week's Folk Show.
