Lynne Truss: Pick of the Archive

Made for 4 Extra. Lynne Truss introduces her favourite radio programmes from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ archive, from Tom Stoppard to Garrison Keillor and a celebration of US comedy heroes Bob & Ray.

Writer and broadcaster Lynne Truss introduces her favourite programmes from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ archive - from 1960s quizzes and classic comedy dramas to Tom Stoppard and Garrison Keillor.

Over 3 hours, Lynne's handpicked highlights include:

We Interrupt the Programme: a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 documentary celebrating the American comedy duo Bob and Ray from 2004. With a 40 year partnership, Bob and Ray were the first to parody radio and TV with spoofs that often outlasted the original. If you've never heard the 'slow-talkers of America', this is not to be missed.

Many a Slip: an episode of the long-running Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ radio panel show from the 1960s.

Albert's Bridge by Tom Stoppard: the timeless, surreal and philosophical radio drama featuring a 27-year-old John Hurt in the title role.

The Wordsmiths of Gorsemere: comedy drama that still makes Lynne laugh nearly 30 years after it was made - Sue Limb's parody of the lives of the Romantic poets, starring Simon Callow, Geoffrey Whitehead and Denise Coffey.

Lake Wobegon: Garrison Keillor performing his classic storytelling monologue, a report from the writer's fictitious hometown.
