Lynsey Sharp - Get Out Strong, Commit
Documentary exploring how Edinburgh athlete Lynsey Sharp triumphed over adversity to win a silver medal in the 800m at Glasgow 2014.
Athlete Lynsey Sharp's emotional outpouring on the 800m finish line was one of the iconic moments of last summer's Commonwealth Games. The 24-year-old runner medalled and swiftly broke down as she revealed the illness and injury that had beset her Games preparations.
Lynsey Sharp: Get Out Strong, Commit, named after the now famous slogan Lynsey wrote on her hand, explores how the Edinburgh athlete triumphed over adversity to become a hero of Glasgow 2014.
Lynsey reveals her fears that she would lose her foot, after a leg wound - from the injury which made her miss most of the 2013 season - turned necrotic just months before the Games. Then when she finally made it to the Athletes' Village she was struck down by a mystery virus, vomiting and hooked up to a drip, hours before the final. What was it that spurred her on to the breathtaking finish that led to a silver medal?
