The Listening Project provides the chance for two people to talk about something important to them. Civil partners Nick and Philip discuss meeting and falling in love.
The Listening Project provides the chance for two friends or loved ones to talk about something important to them. Nick and Philip wanted to take part in the project to discuss how they met and fell in love later in life. It had been a bumpy road for each of them prior to their paths crossing. Philip's Catholic background and family circumstances meant he didn't come out until he was 46, while Nick got married, became a Buddhist and had a course of 'Aversion Therapy' on route to accepting and embracing his sexuality. A proud moment came when, after meeting and falling in love with each other later in life, Nick and Philip tied the knot at one of Scotland's first civil ceremonies. In this candid, touching and highly romantic conversation, they each reflect on the pivotal turning points in their lives together and apart.
