Forty years ago in New York, a young photographer called Chris Stein met singer Debbie Harry.聽 They formed the band and went on to have global success with hits like 鈥淗eart of Glass鈥� and 鈥淎tomic鈥�.聽 They also were a couple for fifteen years and continued to work together after their break up in 1989. Chris and Debbie join Jane to discuss the music, their relationship and 鈥淢e, Blondie and the Advent of Punk鈥� 鈥� an and accompanying book of Chris鈥檚 previously unpublished photos that celebrate the New York punk scene.

Last week the fleet street legend Felicity Green said the best piece of advice she鈥檚 every received was how to tell a man off. Apparently the key is to 鈥渓et him leave with his balls intact.鈥� So how do you have that difficult conversation? How easy is it to cross the line and humiliate your employee? A group of cross party MPs have launched a bid to reform Britain鈥檚 prostitution laws. Today an amendment to the Modern Slavery Bill, making it a crime to pay for sex, will be debated in the House of Commons. Opposers of this move to adopt what is known as the 鈥楴ordic model鈥� say it won鈥檛 stop prostitution, but will make it more dangerous for those involved.聽 Ahead of a vote on this proposition MP Fiona MacTaggart and Dr Belinda Brooks-Gordon discuss the effects of this possible change for those working in the sex industry.

Last week Brazil elected Dilma Rousseff for her second term by an extremely narrow margin. Dilma Rousseff, of the Workers鈥� Party (known as PT), is a 62 year old grandmother, former guerrilla leader and political prisoner. Three years on from her original election we look at what she鈥檚 achieved and why opinions are so divided on her. Jane talks to 麻豆约拍 Brasil producer, Camilla Costa, about what challenges lie ahead for one of the world鈥檚 most powerful women.

The Fawcett Society says that as of November 4th, if you鈥檙e a woman and you go out to work, you鈥檙e working for nothing until the end of the year. It鈥檚 more than 40 years since the Equal Pay Act and women鈥檚 earnings continue to be significantly lower than men鈥檚. What鈥檚 the reason this inequality persists and what should be done about it? Jane talks to Dr Eva Neitzert, Deputy CEO of the Fawcett Society about the report she has written and to Nicky Morgan, the Minister for Women and Equalities about what the government is doing to tackle equal pay.
