Until some months ago, few people had heard of the ebola virus. Now, as the number of cases continues to mount, All Things Considered looks at the work of faith communities in helping to tackle the disease, and questions to what extent the crisis is the result of global inequality?

Roy speaks to two aid workers on the ground – Dr Nathalie MacDermott of the Christian charity Samaritan’s Purse, who has recently returned to Liberia from Cardiff to help establish a medical centre in Liberia; and Foday Conteh, who is the country representative of the Catholic aid agency Cafod.

In studio, Roy’s guests include the former British High Commissioner of Sierra Leone, who served there at the height of the country’s bloody civil war, and who has maintained his links with the country, serving as a ‘paramount chief. Cathrin Daniel is the director of Christian Aid in Wales, and has direct experience of life in Sierra Leone, whilst radical Christian writer Jim Wallis joins us from Washington.
