Real Families: A Child's View
Unique documentary in which children from a diverse range of backgrounds filmed their own family lives to demonstrate what it is like to be approaching teenagehood in Wales today.
As part of the Real Families season from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Wales, children were given their own cameras to tell their own stories, in this unique documentary capturing what it's like to be 'almost a teenager' in Wales today. How has the experience changed since the days of the Famous Five ideal? There is a perception that 11-year-olds are chained to the internet now instead of swinging in trees. What's more, the classic 'two point four children' model is no longer the norm. These days, children's experiences of family life are far more complex and interesting. This documentary captures the reality. Shot over the summer, in that pivotal period of life between primary and secondary school, children from a diverse range of backgrounds show us around their worlds.
