Russell Davies interview A-list legends of music, art, comedy and film. This week, Russell is in conversation with composer, pianist and producer Tony Hatch.
Beginning his musical career at the age of ten when his mother enrolled him in the London Choir School in Kent. He went on to work for Pye Records producing the likes David Bowie and The Searchers and was responsible for writing and producing music for Petula Clark, including her international hit "Downtown". Over the course of a career now spanning 50 years, Hatch has also composed scores for television as well as worked in musical theatre.
He speaks to Russell about his art, alongside a soundtrack inspired by his career.
