Performer in the Portrait
Tony Blackburn in conversation over a number of sittings, as his portrait is painted by John Puckey, celebrating his 50th anniversary as a broadcaster.
A programme celebrating Tony Blackburn's 50th anniversary as a broadcaster.
Tony Blackburn is recorded in conversation over a number of sittings as his portrait is painted by John Puckey who is an up-and-coming young painter in the West Country and has painted subjects ranging from Seth Lakeman to Lord Owen, the former Foreign Secretary. He's also a music promoter in the South West with a wide and deep love of music. A stimulating and amusing talker, John has also often remarked how often the act of portrait-painting stimulates revealing and absorbing conversations, especially when the sitters are creative artists. The resulting programme will feature their conversation mixed with music and will be a rare opportunity to overhear an intimate conversation between artist and subject.
