70th Anniversary of D-Day
Peter Allen is in Normandy for the 70th anniversary of D-Day and commemorations with world leaders and veterans.
Seventy years ago on the beaches of Normandy, British, US and Canadian forces landed in occupied Europe in the first stage of the invasion that led to the liberation of Nazi-occupied Europe and the end of the Second World War. Many of the veterans of that day returned today to commemorate the landings and remember their comrades. Peter Allen was with them live in Arromanches in France. Dominic Laurie reflects on the impact of that day for both the UK and the wider world.
