Paul and Pam McCann
Clare English hears from people with learning disabilities. Paul and Pam McCann, a couple with learning disabilities, discuss their thoughts on love, marriage and children.
This year the Scottish Charity 'Enable Scotland' Celebrates its 60th Year, they have been actively campaigning for a better life for Children and adults who have learning disabilities, supporting them to live, work, and take part in their communities - basically trying to help them to reach their highest potential, whatever that may be.
It's quite normal and reasonable to assume that two people who are in love and choose to live together would want to get married, but what happens if one or both have learning disabilities? That simple human right isn't always a given. And where do you stand on the idea of a learning disabled couple having children? Clare English visits Paul and Pam in their Helensburgh home to hear how they faced years of resistance to their relationship. And what they think about love, marriage and having children.
