This year the Scottish Charity 'Enable Scotland' Celebrates its 60th Year, they have been actively campaigning for a better life for Children and adults who have learning disabilities, supporting them to live, work, and take part in their communities - basically trying to help them to reach their highest potential, whatever that may be.
Clare English will be speaking to people with learning disabilities; voices rarely heard on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Scotland to hear how changing policies have impacted on their lives, everything from inclusion, education, employment, housing - all things that we take for granted but are often not available for some of our more vulnerable members of society.
Today, we hear from Mandy and her daughter Lauren who has a 'Lifelong learning Disability' which affected her schooling. It meant Mandy had to take drastic action to ensure Lauren got the support she needed just to get an education and ensure a brighter future.
