Vinyl sales are at a 15 year high - but what's fuelling the revival? 5 live's Jim Connolly hears from Public Enemy's Chuck D on what he calls "sonic posters", the globe-trotting DJ Carl Cox who has more than 150,000 records in his garage and a range of collectors and label owners on their passion for vinyl. Jim goes shopping with a new collector and the hip hop DJ who has more than 30 thousand records and takes the soul singer Michael Kiwanuka back to the record store of his youth.
We take a tour around a unit on an industrial estate that has been converted into a makeshift living room and record storage vault because the owner's collection was taking over his home. We hear from the jazz fanatic who bought the entire Blue Note back catalogue from the estate of the legendary jazz label. Jim also takes a look at Record Store Day - the annual celebration of independent music -- and asks if it is a force for good in the music industry?
