In the feature 'Headline News [Number one albums on noteworthy days]' we hear 'Dizzy Miss Lizzy' by The Beatles from their album compiled for the US 'Beatles VI'. It was number one on 24th July 1965, the day on which Bob Dylan caused controversy by plugging in an electric guitar at the Newport Folk Festival. We also hear 'Someone Like You' from Adele's album '21'. It was number one on 11th March 2011, the date when an earthquake and tsunami caused devastation in Japan. In the regular feature 'The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face', tracks are played from albums by Ray Conniff and Keith Urban.

In 'A Matter Of Life And Death' Paul celebrates the birthday of Maureen McGovern by playing her hit 'The Morning After'. As a tribute to 'Glee' star Cory Monteith, who has recently died, we hear 'Don't Stop Believin''. 'It's Not The Same Old Song' highlights 'Little Man' by Sonny & Cher and a different song with the same title by Alan Jackson. In the feature called 'Both Sides Now', Paul plays a single by an American artist that was a hit in the UK but in the US and an American hit by a British artist that was not successful in the UK.

Our R&B Number Ones are from 1982 and this week by Jennifer Holliday and Alicia Keys with Maxwell. We hear Country number ones from 1956 and now by Johnny Cash and Florida Georgia Line. This week's featured past and present Rock number ones are by Tears For Fears and Imagine Dragons. 'Blurred Lines' by Robin Thicke featuring Pharrell Williams is the best-selling song of the week.
