Emily Maguire

Emily Maguire

Emily Maguire, the inspired British-born singer songwriter whose remarkable personal journey took her from Australia to the Albert Hall faster than the Bullet train is about to release her first album in three years, Bird Inside A Cage.

Listing influences from Bob Marley to Bach and Buddha, Cambridge-born Emily was classically trained as a child on cello, piano and flute. Her songwriting was born from adversity in her 20s when she was diagnosed with Fybromyalgia, an illness which attacks the nervous system and which kept her hospitalised and housebound for years. Says Emily: “It wasn’t all negative - it gave me the time and space to discover songwriting and learn guitar from Bob Marley songbooks!”

Emily will be joining us live in the studio to play atrack from herforthcoming album.

Emily Maguire's album "Bird Inside A Cage" is released 15th July on Shaktu Records.
