More women than men are likely to use health services over a lifetime which is why one peer is concerned about the lack of women on the board of one of the government’s newest health agencies. was launched in April with the mission to protect the nation’s health and wellbeing, and tackle health inequalities in society. Labour’s Baroness Hayter joins Jenni to talk about why she’s raising the issue in the House of Lords.

Historical breast cancer radiotherapy injuries

Modern breast radiotherapy treatment is highly advanced making the risk of damage and injury very small. But, for a significant number of women and some men who had treatment before 1990Ìýthey are living with conditions caused by their initial treatment. Jenni talks to two women about how the Breast Radiation Injury Rehabilitation Service (BRIRS)Ìý has helped them improve their lives, and to Marianna Shiafkou a Breast Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist and Professor Candy McCabe the service lead for the specialist Complex Regional Pain Syndrome service at the Royal National Hospital for Rheumatic Diseases NHS Foundation Trust.

Mabel's back in fashion after a 'retro' name revival.Ìý A poll by parenting site Netmums.com has found that 40% of couples now opt for old-fashioned baby names, and are vying for 'extreme retro' names such as Stanley and Ethel. ÌýÌýThe writer, broadcaster and stand-up comedian, Viv Groskop, joins Jenni to discuss the trend and why she chose the name Vera for her daughter.

Suzette Jordan: Indian rape survivor reveals her identity

In February 2012 Suzette Jordan was violently raped on her way home from an evening out in Kolkata, India. She accepted a lift from a man who offered to drive her home. He was later joined by four other accomplices who gang raped Suzette. In a society where women who have been raped are often shunned or face open discrimination, the identity of rape victims is not usually revealed, but Suzette has become one of the first women in the country to go public so that she can speak out against the attacks.
