Musician and broadcaster Colum Sands explores how two extraordinary field recording projects, undertaken by the 麻豆约拍 and American folklorist Alan Lomax, came together in the early 1950s to produce the first recorded anthology of traditional Irish music. Filled with accordions, fiddles, pianos, stories and songs, the album would become a template for future musicians, introducing generations to songs which would eventually become standards, such as Whiskey In The Jar, The Lark In The Morning and She Moves Through The Fair.
