The Joke Float
Janey Godley tells the story of how a canal boat packed with comedians sailed through hell and high water from London to Edinburgh to help launch the 2012 London Olympics.
This summer a canal boat packed with comedians undertook the journey of a lifetime, sailing four hundred and twenty miles through the waterways of Britain during the worst summer in a hundred years. Janey Godley takes us on a journey through the highs and lows of traversing the country at three miles an hour, which took comedians Tim Fitzhigham, Andre Vincent, Reginald D. Hunter and many more to tiny venues that had never seen anything quite like it before. From London to Edinburgh taking in black tie events in Henley to shopping trolleys in the canals of Manchester, all the way to the pristine countryside of Scotland through the Falkirk Wheel towards home. Seven weeks, fifty comedians and open water, what could possibly go wrong?
