Uganda 40 Years on

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Asian Network and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Leicester join forces to look at the 40th anniversary of Idi Amin ordering Asians out of Uganda.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Asian Network and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Leicester are joining forces to look at the 40th anniversary of Idi Amin ordering Asians out of Uganda. Around 27,000 Ugandan Asians came to settle in the UK with many ending up in Leicester, changing the face of the city forever.

Rupal Rajani will be hosting a week of programmes across the Asian Network, culminating with a Radio Leicester simulcast on Friday 10th August from Leicester's Belgrave Rd.

Listen from 10am from Monday 6th August to hear stories of life before and after the expulsion of Asian Ugandans 40 years ago.
