Dorothy Squires

Desmond Carrington continues to celebrate stars of the 1950s and this week's show features an archive interview with the Welsh singing star Dorothy Squires.

Desmond Carrington presents words and music from stars whose records we first heard during the 1950s, via Radio Luxembourg and the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Light Programme.

Throughout the series Desmond's guest is the veteran singer and broadcaster Sir Jimmy Young who, 60 years ago was topping the record charts, both here and in America. This week includes an interview from the archives with Welsh singing star Dorothy Squires and the music includes Tree In The Meadow and her hit duet with Russ Conway, Say It With Flowers.
