Tonight's programme celebrates the career of the modern queen of country music, Reba McEntire. In an interview recorded in Nashville last November Bob talks to Reba about a recording career which has spanned more than four decades, has seen her release 26 studio albums and earned her 24 country number one singles, including 'Whoever's in New England', 'For my Broken Heart' and her most recent chart-topper 'Turn on the Radio'.
Not only is Reba the second biggest-selling female country artist of all time (behind Shania Twain), but she continues to develop her successful acting career which first started with bit parts in Hollywood movies, and led her to star in the Broadway revival of Annie Get Your Gun in 2001. Also that year she premiered in her own TV sit-com which ran in the USA for almost seven years.
Bob talks to Reba about her recording and acting careers and her recent induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. He introduces tracks including her early hits 'How Blue' and 'Only In My mind', and looks ahead to Reba's upcoming concert appearances in the UK and Ireland.
