As temperatures plummet, awesome author Lauren Child and mambo loving Lou Bega help to warm us up!

The third day of our 500 Words launch week - the Radio 2 Breakfast Show short story competition for children aged 13 or under. Judge Lauren Child joins us with her writing tips.

It's Day 3 of the 500 WORDS launch week.

After the inaugural book-busting spectacular last year, our short story competition for anyone aged 13 or under is BACK!

Today we are speaking to the third of our expert judges LAUREN CHILD, author and illustrator of Charlie and Lola, whose books have been turned into the four times BAFTA award winning Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TV series, aired in more than 34 countries.

A video of Lauren's top tips for utterly fantastic writing is available on the Radio 2 website.

The writers of the Top 50 stories will be invited to watch the Chris Evans Breakfast Show broadcasting LIVE from the Hay Festival of Literature and the Arts on Friday 1st June 2012.

So if you have lots of ideas and just love writing stories then why not enter now?

And if you're a teacher, don't fear - 'Your Breakfast Show (Also) Needs You!' We want you to help us judge the initial stages of these amazing tales. Last year nearly 4000 of you volunteered to help us out, we couldn't have done it without you!

So get cracking kids, we can't wait to read what you write!
