In the feature Baby What A Big Surprise [they really were Number One albums] we hear White Christmas by Bing Crosby from the LP Merry Christmas. It reached number one in 1957 - twelve years after it was first released. We also hear Livin' La Vida Loca by Ricky Martin, from his self-titled album of 1999, the first US number one album by a Puerto Rican and by a former TV soap opera star.
In the regular feature The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face songs are featured from LPs by Neil Young and Shania Twain. It's Not The Same Old Song' highlights Hold Me Tight by The Beatles and a different song with the same title by Johnny Nash.
In A Matter Of Life And Death Paul celebrates the birth on this date in 1952 of Susan Dey, who played Laurie in the Partridge Family TV series. We also hear Itsy Bitsy Teenie Weenie Polkadot Bikini by Brian Hyland as a tribute to the recently deceased songwriter Lee Pockriss. Wheel Of Fortune by Kay Starr and When A Man Loves A Woman by Percy Sledge are this week's featured songs from the Grammy Hall Of Fame Singles list.
Our R&B Number Ones are from 1968 - I Heard It Through The Grapevine by Marvin Gaye - and this week - Stay by Tyrese. We hear Country Number Ones from 1958 and now by Ray Price and Toby Keith; while this week's past and present Rock Number Ones are by Eric Clapton and Bush.
This week's number one album is Christmas by Michael Bublé and, on the singles side, Sexy And I Know It by LMFAO is Number One.
