Stuart Maconie follows in the footsteps of legendary Lake District fell walker Alfred Wainwright and his long lost book about an epic expedition he made along the Pennines on the eve of the Second World War.

During the walk Stuart meets biographer Hunter Davies and broadcaster Eric Robson, who reveal some surprising secrets about the marathon adventure which was discovered hidden in a drawer after nearly 50 years.
