Mike Harding presents an hour of the best in folk, roots and acoustic music, including an interview with Eliza Carthy, one of the leading lights of British folk music. Mercury Prize-nominated Eliza joins Mike to discuss her forthcoming solo album, Neptune, which is due to be released next month.

The new record comes after Eliza's recent duo project with mother Norma Waterson earned them two prizes at the 2011 Radio 2 Folk Awards. Where the duo album, Gift, was comprised largely of traditional music in the mould of most of the Waterson family's extensive back catalogue, Neptune sees Eliza continue to develop the bold and distinctive contemporary side of her music.

On tonight's programme Eliza tells Mike Harding how she attempts to push herself musically while remaining rooted in the musical traditions she grew up with.
