Chat with Jessica Lea Mayfield

Music and chat with Nemone, plus Dinosaur Jnr frontman J Mascis picks ten tracks in Most Played. Jessica Lea Mayfield is the Lunchtime Love.

J Mascis formed the short-lived hardcore group Deep Wound with Lou Barlow and Scott Helland in the early 1980s. He started out on drums, but moved to guitar when he went on to found Dinosaur Jr. with bassist Barlow and drummer Emmett Jefferson 'Patrick' Murphy (aka 'Murph') in 1984 and achieved national success. His vocals have been described as "Neil Young-like" and his guitar riffs as "monolithic." After Mascis dismissed Barlow from Dinosaur Jr. in 1989, he recorded several more Dinosaur Jr. albums until 1997, including the 1996 acoustic solo album.
Sub Pop Records announced that they would be releasing an acoustic album by Mascis titled Several Shades Of Why on March 15, 2011.
Each week Nemone champions a new artist as her Lunchtime Love and this week she has chosen Ohio based Jessica Lee Mayfield, you'll be hearing her latest single Our Hearts Are Wrong all week and today we'll get a chance to meet the young lady. Jessica will be revealing on how she got into music and her plans for the rest of 2011.
