The Cairngorms - Scotland's Arctic

Dougie Vipond visits the Cairngorms national park. We meet some of the heroes who are preserving this land for future generations, saving countless rare animals and plants.

Dougie Vipond visits the Cairngorms- an area often described as a little bit of the Arctic slipped south. It's Britain's largest and newest National Park, Scotland's most extensive area of arctic mountain landscape and is home to 25 per cent of the country's threatened birds, animals and plants. Four years after the park was officially launched, we meet some of the heroes who are preserving this land for future generations and discover why these high mountains are of international importance.
