The choreographer Kenneth MacMillan was a master storyteller in dance, and in Romeo and Juliet he created a powerful piece of dramatic theatre. Created for The Royal Ballet in 1965, the work was an instant success and is now considered to be the definitive version of Prokofiev's orginal score.
