Down with Love

Romantic comedy about a women's lifestyle author who urges girls to throw down their aprons but questions her own advice when a playboy journalist attempts to woo her.

New York City, 1962 - Barbara Novak arrives in town from Maine for the launch of her first book Down With Love, a controversial study of sexual politics, advocating equality for women in the workplace and in the home.

Novak's editor, Vicki, sets her up with an interview with an upmarket men's mag's star reporter, Catcher Block, hoping to spark off publicity for the book, as well as romance with the editor, Peter McMannus. However, when Catcher's womanising ways leads him to stand Barbara up repeatedly, the two seem destined never to meet. Until the book becomes a runaway success.
