Drama set in Arizona in 1881. A sergeant in the all-black 9th Cavalry is falsely accused of the murder of his white commander and the rape and murder of the man's daughter.

A sergeant in the all-black 9th Cavalry is falsely accused of the murder of his white commander and the rape and murder of the man's daughter. Although the sergeant is being defended by a white friend and fellow soldier, his trial quickly degenerates into an excuse for the local community to vent its prejudice and intolerance.
