Your favourite stars reveal why the Teen Awards are SO amazing

The Teen Awards 2017 were absolutely epic! And we think it might just have been the best year we've seen so far.

So just what is it that makes the Teen Awards SO special? We went along and asked some of the biggest names that were there on the day what they thought...

Liam Payne

The lovely Liam Payne inspired us all to "have fun and get rowdy" with his INCREDIBLE performance at the Teen Awards, and he also had a really special time being there.

"It was amazing to meet the Teen Heroes earlier," he told us. "It’s important that these people get the recognition that they deserve. Such lovely people that I met. I think really us artists like to fill in the 'in between' bits, today it’s all about the teens eh? It’s a special environment, especially being a Dad coming here now as well. I look at the younger generation differently these days I guess."

Rita Ora

The fabulous Rita Ora not only performed her amazing new single Anywhere, but co-hosted the awards with Grimmy. Busy day all round then?

"I was extremely excited," she revealed. "I love doing the Teen Awards because it's just the best response - and so loud! It's like a family here, everyone's really respectful and loyal to one another. All the artists are up for everything and are good sports. Everyone's up for having fun, which is the most special thing for me. And the Teen Heroes are ultimately the point of the whole thing. Showing how hard they work really makes us artists look like we're not doing enough, to be honest!"

George Ezra

For George Ezra, the Teen Awards sure beat your average Sunday Roast.

"It’s very flattering to be invited," he said. "I think award ceremonies are funny because I kind of take the stance that everyone’s a winner, but this one’s lovely. Because it involves not only young people but young people doing amazing things, so that’s special. The atmosphere is LOUD! It’s funny because I keep forgetting it’s a Sunday. This is much better than my usual Sunday."

Marcel from Love Island

It was the first Teen Awards experience for Love Island's Marcel, and the experience clearly meant a lot to him. "It’s really exciting, it’s such a good event to be a part of," he told us. "Because obviously you’ve got to celebrate the young, brave teens. Celebrating youth is encouraging to the other teenagers out there. So it’s good to give them that support and that motivation to strive for greatness."

5. Dynamo

The incredible magician Dynamo helped Anne-Marie to present an extremely deserving Stormzy with the Most Entertaining Celeb award. He was also bowled over by the event.

"I think it’s exciting that it’s been created for the young people," he told us. "Not only is it to entertain, but it’s to acknowledge talented young people and the extraordinary things that they do. If you give them the support now, then they’ll take that encouragement and that support and the confidence it gives them into being an adult."
