4. Entries will be judged against the following criteria:
- We are looking for a living person aged between 18 and 30
- The winner should be a person or organisation that has changed the way we deal with our food, anywhere from its production to its presentation and consumption, including food controls and food safety.
- They should have challenged established methods or practices, and their ideas should have had (or have the potential to have) a lasting effect on our relationship with food.
- They should be someone who has (or will) inspire others to continue with their work.
- This category covers the entire length of the food supply chain e.g. agricultural scientists, farmers, producers, food shops, national retailers or manufacturers, websites, wholesalers, chefs, restaurateurs.
- Judging should reward original thinking and innovation in terms of practicality of operations and the final product(s)
- We are not necessarily looking for the person or project that has had the biggest impact – but for the person or project that you think is making the most valuable contribution.
5. All judges are listed on the Food Chain website.
6. The judges are independent and have been selected for their knowledge in the various category areas. They all see the long lists, and their decisions are final.
7. You can nominate yourself and/ or the organisation or company you work for. You must be aged between 18-30 to be eligible. However, you will need to state if you are nominating your own business.

10. A press release may be issued with details of finalists in each category, and a later release will name the winner.
