The Hay Festival is the annual literary extravaganza which sees the great and the good share their stories with the world. Margaret Atwood

The Canadian author’s 1985 dystopian masterpiece, The Handmaid’s Tale, has never been more relevant. With the second series of the acclaimed TV adaptation returning to British TV screens, she spoke to Hay Festival director Peter Florence about the book and its legacy in the Tata Tent on Monday 28 May - watch on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ iPlayer.

Robert Webb

Chelsea Clinton

The daughter of former US President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton presented her illustrated book, She Persisted, which celebrates 13 women from around the world who have created change and shaped history - from JK Rowling to Malala Yousafzai. David Walliams

He may have shot to fame alongside Matt Lucas as one of the comic brains behind Little Britain, but since the publication of his first novel, The Boy in the Dress, David Walliams has also seen ten years of success as a children’s author.
