The Great Wellington Walk

Claire Carter is attempting her biggest and toughest challenge yet for .

The Great Wellington Walk will see Claire attempt to walk 75 miles in just 5 days wearing wellington boots!

The walk will start on the morning of Monday 13 November in Wellington - the town where Claire lives.

She’ll then walk 15 miles in each district of the county and will be visiting schools along her route with Pudsey.

The Route

Claire will start walking at around 08:50 each morning and she’ll visit schools/colleges along the route.

We hope she’ll reach the finishing point each day shortly after 19:00 and Claire would love you to join her and Pudsey each night for an evening of entertainment.

Day 1: Monday 13 November
Taunton Deane – Wellington School to Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton. Travelling past Bradford-on-Tone and through Rumwell.

Day 2: Tuesday 14 November
West Somerset – The Beach Hotel in Minehead to Doniford Bay Holiday Park. Visiting Dunster, Carhampton, Blue Anchor, Watchet and Williton.

Day 3: Wednesday 15 November
Mendip – Clarks Village in Street to The Bishop’s Palace in Wells. Travelling through Glastonbury and Coxley.

Day 4: Thursday 16 November
South Somerset – RNAS Yeovilton to Yeovil Town Football Club. Visiting Ilchester and Chilthorne Domer.

Day 5: Friday 17 November
Sedgemoor – Burnham-on-Sea Tourist Information Centre to Bridgwater and Albion Rugby Football Club. Travelling through Highbridge, West Huntspill and Pawlett.

Get involved

There will be plenty of opportunities to get involved and support Claire and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need during The Great Wellington Walk.

You can hear Claire and the breakfast team, from a different location in the county each morning between Monday 13 November and Friday 17 November.

Claire and Pudsey would love to see you at the finishing point of each day’s walk for an evening of entertainment with The Late, Late Breakfast Show, which will be broadcasting between 19:00 and 22:00.

  • Day 1, Monday 13 November: Somerset County Cricket Club, Taunton – Silent Disco.
  • Day 2, Tuesday 14 November: Doniford Bay Holiday Park – Live Music.
  • Day 3, Wednesday 15 November: The Bishop’s Palace, Wells – Quiz.
  • Day 4, Thursday 16 November: Yeovil Town Football Club – Clinton Rogers and his band Cleverly Everly.
  • Day 5, Friday 17 November: Albion Rugby Football Club – Watch the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One TV show with us.

“I don’t think I’ve ever been so nervous in the run up to a challenge for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need.

"I’m not sure how my body will cope with walking so far in wellington boots – but I will do everything I can to complete the challenge as it’s raising money for a great cause.

"I really hope the people of this wonderful county support me as much as they can as I pound the streets of Somerset”
