Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button feature

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button launched more than 10 years ago and is currently used by 12 million people a week. Pressing the red button on any Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ digital TV channel (available on Freeview, Freesat, Sky or Virgin Media) gives free access to a whole host of extra entertainment and information.

As well as the latest news, sport and weather, there's lots of other fresh content ranging from digital text services such as travel information or lottery results, to great extras and enhancements to favourite Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ shows. There may be exclusive music sessions, play-along quizzes or chances to select different live events – some with alternative audio commentaries, or access to behind-the-scenes video.

Now, all Freesat viewers (both broadcast and IP connected boxes) can access single stream video services, meaning they can enjoy a wider range of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button video-based services, starting with the new Being Human spin off, Becoming Human, available from 30 January. More information is available here: .

This dedicated section in Programme Information will keep viewers up to date with the latest red button content from the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. This information covers weeks 4-6.

Manic Street Preachers Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔcoming

In a special gig for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 In Concert, Manic Street Preachers return home to perform at the Blackwood Miners Institute in Wales, with new and classic tracks, plus footage of the band in their home town with Jo Whiley.

Nicky Wire from the band says: "It has been nearly 25 years since we have played in our home town of Blackwood. We are thrilled and excited to be returning to a venue where we have spent many hours honing our snooker skills – but this was before it became a live venue. It will be the smallest gig that we have played in a long time which will no doubt lead to chaos, severe nerves but hopefully a night of home-town ecstasy."

Watch highlights from the concert and exclusive moments from the Manics as they return home on the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button from 10pm on Friday 28 January (times vary on Freeview).

Becoming Human

Becoming Human is a brand-new companion drama to the third series of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Three's Being Human. Featuring two new characters and a crossover character from the main show, viewers can watch the mystery unfold on the red button and online.

Vampire Adam is at college trying to get himself back on the straight and narrow. He meets the beautiful and cool Christa, who just happens to be a werewolf. They strike up a friendship with Matt and the three of them become embroiled in a mystery that leads to more than they bargained for...

Viewers can either sit back and watch the eight episodes, or they can get more involved in the story as it unfolds, with extra clues and materials posted online at .

Available from 30 January.

Christian O'Connell Show

The new Christian O'Connell show on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 5 Live (Saturdays, 9-11am) starts on Saturday 15 January, with Lenny Henry as a guest. The show runs until the end of May 2011. Keeping the sprit of the traditional 5 Live Saturday morning slot, the programme, which can be seen under the red button, will be a mix of audience engagement, entertaining guests and, in true Danny Baker style, creative nonsense.

Nuzzle & Scratch

Younger viewers can press the red button to play a quiz featuring that fun-loving furry duo, Nuzzle & Scratch.

Viewers can watch clips of their favourite, sponge-finger-loving alpacas and play along with the quiz, hosted by Nuzzle & Scratch themselves.

The quiz features 10 questions based on moments from the new series of Nuzzle & Scratch. This time, the famous alpacas are helping to run a costume shop and finding themselves in a variety of funny situations.

It's just for fun but viewers can play again and again to improve their score.

More info on Nuzzle & Scratch, including clips from previous series, can be found at

The quiz will be available from Monday 21 February to Friday 4 March from 6am to 7pm daily on Freeview and Sky.

Mozart

Mozart enthusiasts can get even more extra content on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Red Button. Charles Hazlewood examines and conducts Symphony No. 40 in G Minor, together with an enhanced visual view of the performance using graphics and information as the music unfolds.

Available from 21 January.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 Folk Awards 2011
