Will Mellor, Warren Clarke, Niky Wardley and Craig Parkinson star in a new six-part comedy for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One about what real family life is like when you're holding down jobs, raising three kids and having to deal with an irresponsible brother and cantankerous dad.
In With The Flynns is a warm, authentic, half-hour comedy series made by Caryn Mandabach Productions for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One. Will Mellor and Niky Wardley play Liam and Caroline Flynn, Mancunians in their early thirties who are raising their three children and holding down jobs. It's tough – and even tougher because they're still growing up themselves.
They are blessed with a rebellious teenage daughter, Chloe, and two younger sons; Mikey, who's always up for a lark, and Steve who definitely isn't.
Liam and Caroline both find that trying to be a good parent is a minefield of dilemmas and blunders – but help is at hand, albeit in the form of Liam's wayward brother Tommy (Craig Parkinson), who never ceases to complicate matters, and their grouchy dad Jim (Warren Clarke), who believes they'll never be as good as he was at parenting. Both are on hand to offer advice which often ends in disaster.
Will Mellor says: "I had a great time working on In With The Flynns with a fantastic cast. I can't wait to see what the public thinks of it."
Caryn Mandabach, director of Caryn Mandabach Productions, says: "This experience has been a delight. I'm thrilled to find that families here in the UK are just as extraordinary and funny as they are back in the US."
In With The Flynns is commissioned for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One by Cheryl Taylor, Controller of Comedy Commissioning. The executive producer for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ is Jon Rolph. The executive producers for Mandabach Productions are Caryn Mandabach (Nurse Jackie, Roseanne, 3rd Rock From The Sun, The Cosby Show) and Jamie Glazebrook (The IT Crowd, The 11 O'Clock Show).
It's directed by Dominic Brigstocke (I'm Alan Partridge, Reggie Perrin, Green Wing, Smack The Pony), written by Daniel Peak (I'm With Stupid, Not Going Out), George Jeffrie and Bert Tyler-Moore (My Family, Pete Vs Life) and produced by Gill Isles (Ideal, Gavin And Stacey).
