Colin trained at ArtsEd School of Acting and graduated in 2009. His first job after graduation was with Rufus Hound in sci-fi comedy Hounded for CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. He also did the pilot for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Switch comedy Shelfstackers.

Stage credits include the Ghost of Christmas Past in A Christmas Carol at Birmingham REP and I Was Looking at the Ceiling And Then I Saw The Sky, a contemporary opera at Stratford East Theatre Royal.

What would we have seen you in before?

I filmed a sci-fi comedy series for CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ called Hounded with Rufus Hound last year. That was my first job out of drama school so you wouldn't have seen me in anything before that. I've also since then done some theatre, I was in A Christmas Carol at Birmingham REP and did a contemporary opera at Stratford East Theatre Royal.

Tell us about Lorenzo.

Lorenzo is the unofficial Prince of Florence – the son of wealthy banker Piero de' Medici. He's spoilt and naïve but loves a good adventure with his mates to whom he is incredibly loyal. He has a penchant for a good hat and (like me) loves his food.

Did you research your character?

Lorenzo was actually a real person who went on to do great things for Italy, becoming the Godfather of the Renaissance, so I made sure I did a lot of research on him beforehand.

Lorenzo's the ultimate rich kid – would you be friends with him?

Lorenzo would be great to have around! Despite his status, he's always willing to help out and good fun too. I'd be mates with him – his outfits alone would provide half the entertainment!

Lorenzo often disobeys his parents by sneaking out – what were you like as a teenager?

I was pretty good as a teenager to be honest! I was never as adventurous as Lorenzo, but it must have been boring with no Internet or TV so I don't blame him for sneaking out!

If you had Lorenzo's money what would you spend it on?

Lorenzo himself only gets a few quid pocket money each week – it's his dad who has all the money! In which case I'd probably spend it on food, maybe a nice pack of biscuits.

What was the biggest challenge you faced during filming?

Apart from waking up at 4.30 every morning, the biggest challenge I faced was the heat! I had to wear lots of really thick costumes with loads of layers and when filming out in the African sun it was hard to stay awake sometimes!

What's been your favourite memory from filming?

Filming for three months in South Africa was pretty special and spending it with the cast and crew that we had made it even better, we had such a laugh. The whole experience has been memorable from start to finish!
