Episode 1

Episode one sees the four international officers arrive in Essex, a county renowned for its loutish, drinking culture. Their first week in the UK is spent preparing for a booze-fuelled Friday night shift in the party town of Colchester.

Our officers take part in drill training, dog training and self-defence and also deal with routine crime such as shoplifting, anti-social behaviour and road rage.

They're surprised to discover that the great British public seems to have no respect for its police force but it's their night out in Colchester that shocks them the most. They watch astounded as Essex police pours resources on taking care of youths too drunk to look after themselves.

After a night of witnessing debauchery and violence on the streets of Colchester, PC Luke Elsbury from Western Australia can't believe how "hands off" his British counterparts are. Referring to the Brits' treatment of one nuisance reveller in particular, he says: "As you can probably tell I'm feeling frustrated, where I'm from his night would have been over."

Colonel Gonzalo LondoΓ±o from Colombia doesn't believe it's the job of the police to be taking care of drunks: "I think people should be able to take care of themselves"; and Assistant Commissioner Alfred Nawa from Zambia and PC Usofono Latu from Samoa are simply shocked to realise that British youngsters are throwing their lives away on drink.

Episode 2

Episode two sees the four overseas officers arrive in Birmingham for their first taste of big city policing.

Colombian Colonel Gonzalo LondoΓ±o and PC Luke Elsbury from the Australian Outback are chucked in at the deep end when they're sent to police a football match that quickly descends into violence.

At the end of the night Luke comments: "In eight years of policing I've never experienced anything like this."

After feeling vulnerable at the football match, the officers' training is stepped up a gear as they undergo hardcore British riot training. They're put through their paces against violence, missiles and petrol bombs before facing the final test – a live riot scenario.

Colombian colonel Gonzalo, used to policing the cocaine jungles of his own country, gets a glimpse of the UK's drug problem as he joins police officers on a raid.

Episode 3

This week sees our officers policing all levels of British society, from prostitutes and hoodies all the way up to a member of the Royal family.

Episode 4

After five weeks of policing the British streets and dealing with drug dealers and cannabis factories in South Wales, the foreign officers head back to their home countries and reflect on their time in the UK. Back home they will implement some of the things they've learnt. But how will policing on push-bikes go down in Zambia or ram-raiding in Western Australia?
