Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archive

Celebrating the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's ongoing commitment to literature programming, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archive is making new material available within its popular collection: In Their Own Words – British Novelists.

Throughout its history, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ has helped audiences delve into the imagination of Britain's most revered writers, to understand better the settings they evoke and the characters they create.

The collection of television and radio interviews with some of the 20th century's most-loved authors already includes Muriel Spark and John le CarrΓ©, both featured in the inaugural World Book Night in partnership with Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two. It will now be supplemented with additional material to support the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Year Of Books.

The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archive is one of the largest multimedia archives in the world. Held in 27 locations across the UK, it holds close to a million hours of TV and radio programmes, 6 million stills photographs, more than 4 million items of sheet music and more than half-a-million documents and records. New material in the collection is now available at bbc.co.uk/archive/writers.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archive collections allow users to explore some 75 years of UK and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ history. Programmes, documents and images bring the past to life and enable content discovery within a rich interactive resource, available to UK audiences. For more information visit: bbc.co.uk/archive.
