Rip-Off Britain returns to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime toΒ tackle nation's consumer problems

Following last year's success, Angela Rippon, Gloria Hunniford and Jennie Bond are back to take onΒ the nation's consumer problems in a newΒ extended series of Rip-Off Britain, on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime.

Money matters and, in tough times, it seems everyone wants to get their hands on our cash – from the banks to the supermarkets and from utility suppliers to insurance companies.

At a time of financial pressure, the new series asks the public what they want Angela, Gloria and Jenny to investigate.

In a battle against shady deals and sharp practices, the presenters will dig into the facts and demand answers from the people at the top. They will also show viewers how to get the information they need to make informed choices about their finances so they can avoid being ripped off.

In the first series, Angela, Gloria and Jennie highlighted a range of traps that so many of us regularly fall into and took on big businesses such as Barclays and BT.

They investigated different cases, from the Equity Release schemes to premium phone lines, from low cost airlines to internet-only discounts.

The series first ran as a series of five episodes, but is back for a run of 20x45-minute shows.

Liam Keelan, Controller Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Daytime, says:Β "It's fantastic toΒ seeΒ such talented and experiencedΒ presentersΒ back on Daytime tackling the issues that so matter to our audience."

Rip-Off Britain is being made by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Current Affairs and executive producers are Carla-Maria Lawson and Sinead Rocks.

Rip-Off Britain is a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Vision production for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime and is due to transmit in the autumn.
