Showbiz legend Lulu is to present Rewind The 60s, a special week-long series of programmes on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime looking at the huge social change, creative innovation and historic importance that made the Swinging Sixties what they were

Across the week, Lulu will bring key stories of the decade back to life through archive film and first-hand accounts from the people who were there, along with the best in music, TV, culture and artefacts from the era.

Lulu will be based in a studio and will be joined each day by a different celebrity guest, who will relate their anecdotes from a decade to remember.

Lulu says: "In the Sixties, my life was a whirl of touring, recording and acting so, as the host of Rewind The 60s, it's a great luxury to be given the chance to relive the highlights and share other people's recollections of this memorable decade.

"The Sixties were a time of such change, both for me personally and for society as a whole, and I feel honoured to be recognised as part of this very special era. I can't wait to take a look back at this once-in-a-lifetime phenomenon, the Swinging Sixties."

Lulu shot to fame in the Sixties with her definitive version of Shout and went on to achieve huge success throughout the decade and beyond, enjoying chart domination, tours with The Hollies and The Monkees and success in the 1969 Eurovision Song Competition. She even made her debut as a movie actress in the 1967 film To Sir, with Love.

Alongside Rewind The 60s, Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One Daytime will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the Swinging Sixties with The Indian Doctor (working title), a new drama series starring Sanjeev Bhaskar and telling the story of Dr Prem Sharma, one of the thousands of doctors who – encouraged by Enoch Powell – moved from the Indian Sub-Continent to the UK to begin new lives.

Rewind The 60s is being made by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Productions in Bristol, and the executive producers are Pete Lawrence and Gerard Melling.

The Indian Doctor (working title) is being made by Rondo Media and Avatar Films and the executive producers are Tom Ware for Rondo Media, Deep Sehgal for Avatar Films and Gerard Melling for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ.
