Mission: 2110 – the characters

Caleb

Caleb is a battle-scarred hero with no memory of where he is from – or how he came to be inside the Roboidz stronghold, Future Gate. All he has ever known is his fight against the Roboidz. All he knows for sure is his name.

Determined beyond anything else to see the Roboidz defeated, Caleb believes that because of the cybernetic elements which keep him alive he could be susceptible to Roboidz control if he gets too close to them.

This is why he must rely on the young people that come through the time portal to undertake the physical and mental challenges necessary to defeat the Roboidz.

Sometimes things aren't quite what they seem in Future Gate – is this enigmatic and charismatic man with a dark sense of humour the reanimated son of Roboidz creator Laura Gant?

Cybele and Neuros

Cybele and Neuros are polar opposites and all that remains of Laura Gant the creator of the Roboidz.

When the Roboidz discovered Laura was a dying woman they repaid the one human being they respected, because she had given them life, by making her their own immortal queen. But the trauma of becoming effectively a human head trapped within a machine sent her crazy.

But she has learned to embrace her cybernetic immortality and has dedicated herself to leading the Roboidz. Not simply in their quest to destroy humanity, but to evolve. And Neuros is ruthless in pursuing that aim.

Cybele is the downloaded consciousness of Laura Gant, saved on a cyconetic hard-drive years before she was taken over by the Roboidz. Cybele is Caleb's ally in the war against the Roboidz. Her voice is disembodied within Caleb's hideaway and she is his sounding board when he needs to work things out and his friend when he feels lonely and desperate.

The Roboidz

There are three models of Roboidz.

Commander Class (AKA Guard): These are the security force of Future Gate. They have no visual apparatus but are armed with the latest sensory technology. They are the most intelligent of all the Roboidz and have multi-digit and dextrous power claws.

Battle Class (AKA Wardroid): Designed as soldiers these are hardcore destroyers – equipped for battle with a deadly rip claw and vector beam weaponry. They are agile, fast and will stop at nothing to destroy humans.

Drone Class (AKA Worker): The dreadnoughts of the Roboid world, designed for manual labour in the most hostile conditions imaginable, they are big and strong and equipped with pincer claws which can crush, smash and bend anything that stands in their way – including Caleb's recruits!

The Shades: The sinister Roboidz slaves are humans who have had their minds wiped. They are zombie-like and smell terrible! They can often be found at work on unknown projects deep in the bowels of Future Gate.
