Bridgwater's Emma Britton helps Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Somerset gain record numbers of listeners

The latest set of radio industry figures show that Emma Britton has increased the number of listeners to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Somerset's The Morning Show by 50% since she took over at the start of the year.

Data released by the radio listening body RAJAR shows that, in December 2008, The Morning Show had 19,500 listeners, whereas the new figures just released for June to September 2009 show that the audience for The Morning Show has grown to 29,400 – up by around 50%.

Emma said: "I'm thrilled that so many more people are listening to The Morning Show on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Somerset.

"Regular listeners will know how proud I am to be Bridgwater born and bred, and will know my passion for Carnival in particular.

"It's brilliant to be able to speak to so many lovely Somerset people on the show and to big up Bridgwater!"

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Somerset's Managing Editor Jess Rudkin said: "Emma's been a huge hit on The Morning Show.

"Her passion for Somerset, and her fierce loyalty to Bridgwater in particular, is so evident in the programme – she's a true voice of Somerset."

Look out for Emma in the Bridgwater Carnival procession on Friday 6Β November 2009, along with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Somerset bus.

Emma will also be hosting a special outside broadcast in Bridgwater town centre on Friday 20 November for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need.

Everyone who comes along will have the chance to meet Pudsey, hear live music and entertainment, and to get their Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need fundraising mentioned on air.
